Endress+Hauser USA (Greenwood, IN) manufactures instrumentation for the industrial process sphere, including solutions for flow, level, pressure, and temperature. Typical served industries include chemical, food & beverage, life sciences, power & energy, mining, minerals, metals, oil & gas, and water & wastewater.

The Endress+Hauser Promag W 400 (pictured left) is a popular magnetic flow meter that is suitable for a broad range of water and wastewater flow metering applications. The Promag features traditional 4-20 milliamp and pulse SCADA signals, as well as the EtherNet/IP network protocol.

Like most mains-powered process magnetic flow meters, the Promag W 400 does not offer native AMI/AMR-compatibility. However, SCADAmetrics is pleased to announce that today’s firmware release for the Model MBE Encodalizer adds Neptune and Sensus encoder protocols to this important flow meter, so that it may now be easily integrated into today’s modern AMI/AMR systems!

Connection of the Encodalizer to the Promag could not be easier: Two (2) wires interconnect the instruments (Modbus+ and Modbus). Configuration of the Encodalizer is also straightforward, requiring setup via 16 integral DIP switches from a lookup table.
