Expose the communication wires by cutting the cable short of the ERT communication adapter:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-52\" title=\"ABB_ScanCoder_002\" src=\"https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/ABB_ScanCoder_002.jpg\" alt=\"ABB_ScanCoder_002\" width=\"440\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/ABB_ScanCoder_002.jpg 714w, https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/ABB_ScanCoder_002-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 714px) 100vw, 714px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2.
