Station features a Ground Storage Tank and Altitude Valve, a Master Meter, 2 Pumps, and a Bypass Valve. Williamsville&#8217;s station is run by an intelligent RTU connected to their Radio SCADA system. Springfield, the bulk seller, monitors the master meter using an Itron radio AMR system.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In the scope of this\u00a0project, Williamsville installed <a href=\"https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/PDF\/EtherMeter_102.pdf\">EtherMeters<\/a> into their existing distribution SCADA system for the purpose of automated report generation, flow monitoring, and leak detection.The custody-transfer master meter was a <a href=\"http:\/\/badgermeter.com\">Badger<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/badgermeter.com\/getdoc\/938496bf-03bd-4086-8ae3-28cbc3ae14e5\/rts-t-6-pdf.aspx\">6 Inch T2000 Turbo Meter<\/a> outfitted with an <a href=\"http:\/\/badgermeter.com\/Water\/AMR\/ADE\/ADE-T-01-ADE.aspx\">ADE Encoder Register<\/a>\u00a0and supplied by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.midwest-meter.com\/home.html\">Midwest Meter (Edinburg, IL)<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Springfield\u00a0concurrently wished to read this meter using\u00a0a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itron.com\/asset.asp?path=\/products\/specsheets\/itr_008285.pdf\">60W ERT Endpoint<\/a> (manufactured by <a href=\"http:\/\/itron.com\">Itron<\/a>) as part of its radio-based AMR system.\u00a0 It\u00a0was important to both parties that Williamsville&#8217;s\u00a0SCADA\/metering system\u00a0and Springfield&#8217;s AMR system coexist without disruption to the other&#8217;s system.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_363\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Sherman_Interconnect_002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-363\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-363\" title=\"Sherman_Interconnect_002\" src=\"https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Sherman_Interconnect_002-300x178.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"178\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Sherman_Interconnect_002-300x178.jpg 300w, https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Sherman_Interconnect_002-336x200.jpg 336w, https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Sherman_Interconnect_002.jpg 910w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-363\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vault-Set Master Meter: 6 Inch Badger T2000 Turbo Meter. Meter is equipped with an ADE encoder-type register and an Itron 60W ERT.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>To achieve\u00a0harmonious sharing of the master meter, it was necessary to split the meter signal using\u00a0a <a href=\"https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/PDF\/Radio_Read_Filter_50.pdf\">SCADAmetrics\u00a0RRF-50 &#8220;Radio-Read Filter&#8221;<\/a>.\u00a0 This unit\u00a0was installed\u00a0within a small junction box within\u00a0the master meter vault,\u00a0essentially allowing the two meter-reading devices to be connected in parallel to\u00a0the single encoder-based register.\u00a0 The vault did not contain power, but this was not\u00a0 a hindrance, since the Radio-Read Filter does not require an external\u00a0power source.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_365\" style=\"width: 305px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Sherman_Interconnect_003.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-365\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-365\" title=\"Sherman_Interconnect_003\" src=\"https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Sherman_Interconnect_003-295x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"295\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Sherman_Interconnect_003-295x300.jpg 295w, https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Sherman_Interconnect_003-64x64.jpg 64w, https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Sherman_Interconnect_003-196x200.jpg 196w, https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Sherman_Interconnect_003.jpg 651w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 295px) 100vw, 295px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-365\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">SCADAmetrics Radio-Read Filter. This device allows two endpoints to share the meter readings. In this case, the two endpoints are the Itron 60W ERT (Seller) and an EtherMeter (Buyer).
