The Siemens FM Mag6000<\/a><\/strong> (pictured left) is a popular magnetic flow meter transmitter that is suitable for a broad range of water and wastewater flow metering applications. The Mag6000 features traditional 4-20 milliamp and pulse SCADA signals, as well as fieldbus protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like most mains-powered process magnetic flow meters, the Mag6000 does not offer native AMI\/AMR-compatibility. However, SCADAmetrics is pleased to announce that today’s firmware release for the Model MBE Modbus Encodalizer\u2122<\/em><\/strong><\/a> now adds Neptune and Sensus encoder protocols to this important flow meter, so that it may now be easily integrated into today\u2019s modern AMI\/AMR systems!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following illustrates a typical application of the Mag6000\/Encodalizer pair into a potable water distribution or wastewater system \u2014 where both<\/span><\/strong> AMI and SCADA signaling are desired:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connection of the Encodalizer to the Mag6000 could not be easier: Two (2) wires interconnect the instruments (Modbus+<\/sup> and Modbus–<\/sup>). Configuration of the Encodalizer is also straightforward, requiring setup via 16 integral DIP switches from a lookup table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
