Model EMP.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While in <strong>simulation mode<\/strong> \u2013 regardless of whether a flow meter is attached \u2013 the Signalizer will emit a constant <strong>12 milliamps (50%)<\/strong> from its 4-20 milliamp terminal; and it will also emit a continuous <strong>1 Hz pulse<\/strong> from its pulse terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The simulation feature will allow the SCADA, telemetry, or building automation integrator to exercise and validate his controller&#8217;s I\/O interface <strong><em>before<\/em><\/strong> the meter is installed or before a positive flow condition is available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-1e02bf2e-c5aa-457e-a899-d3f2def371eb\">In order to activate simulation mode, both dip switches 1 and 2 should be set into the ON position. The resistor is included as another complimentary troubleshooting tool.  For example, if the system integrator&#8217;s multimeter does not offer the ability to measure DC current (in order to validate the 4-20mA signal), then he may install the included resistor as a dummy load across the milliamp output terminals in order to measure DC voltage, instead (which is generally easier):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>4mA x 249 \u03a9 ~ 0.99 volts<\/li><li>12mA x 249 \u03a9 ~ 2.99 volts<\/li><li>20mA x 249 \u03a9 ~ 4.98 volts<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The datasheet\/manual has been modified to reflect the addition of the new simulation mode functionality&#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-7330ba57-cc24-45ad-a735-3ce4f25444ce\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/PDF\/EMP_v1.pdf\">Download PDF Datasheet \/ User Manual Here: TheSignalizer<strong>&#x2122;<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many thanks to SCADA System Integrator <strong>Jeff Morris<\/strong>, Automation Manager, President \u2013 <strong>HTI Inc.
