href=\"http:\/\/www.scadametrics.com\/PDF\/B202v103.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Model B202<\/a>\u00a0 \u2014 an industrial Bell 202 modem designed for radio telemetry applications.\u00a0\u00a0The B202\u00a0is designed to provide external, non-proprietary data modulation\/demodulation\u00a0for a wide range of popular analog telemetry radios, including models from Ritron, Tecnet, MDS, and RF Neulink, and Calamp.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_860\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/scadametrics.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Bell-202-001.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-860\" class=\"size-medium class=\"wp-caption-text\">Model B202: SCADAmetrics Bell-202 Modem for Telemetry Radios.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>An interesting application is the use of <strong>Allen Bradley MicroLogix PLC&#8217;s<\/strong>, B202 modems, and narrowband analog telemetry radios to form a reliable, non-proprietary SCADA radio network.<\/p>\n<p>Rockwell Automation offers the <strong>&#8220;DF1 Radio Modem&#8221;<\/strong> serial communication protocol, which is optimized for radio\/SCADA applications. \u00a0This protocol, in conjunction with appropriate PLC settings, is suitable for radio telemetry communications.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of laboratory validations, we are pleased to report that compatibility is verified between the MicroLogix and the B202.<\/p>\n<p>Our validation testing utilized a <strong>Allen Bradley MicroLogix 1400 PLC<\/strong> set up as a <strong>DF1 Radio Modem Client<\/strong>\u00a0communicating with a <strong>SCADAmetrics EM-100 EtherMeter\u00ae<\/strong>\u00a0set up as a <strong>DF1 Radio Modem Server<\/strong>. \u00a0The narrowband analog telemetry radios used in this test were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ritron.com\"><strong>Ritron<\/strong><\/a> models <strong>DTX-PLUS II<\/strong> equipped with\u00a0<strong>SCADAmetrics DTX Din-Rail-Mounting Kits<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As a consequence of the tests, we have authored an Application Note that details the steps required to use the <strong>B202<\/strong> with <strong>MicroLogix PLCs<\/strong> and narrowband analog telemetry radios:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a
