The drain wire should be tied to ground on only one end (preferably the control cabinet end).<\/p>\n<p>An alternate 4-conductor extension cable that features stranded conductors (for certain Radio-Read Filter applications) is the 5502FE cable by Belden (Part No. 5502FE 008 1000): <a href=\"http:\/\/www.belden.com\/techdatas\/english\/5502FE.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Datasheet Link<\/a>.\u00a0 Note that this Belden\u00a0cable\u00a0has\u00a0four (4)\u00a0stranded,\u00a022-gauge, copper conductors with color-coded insulators (RED, GREEN,BLACK,WHITE ), an outer foil\u00a0shield and a drain wire.\u00a0 This cable is riser-rated (CMR).
